Knitwear - Chanel till Westwood

Förra veckan gjorde jag en utflykt till den svenska västkusten.

Jag ville gärna se utställningen Knitwear, som tidigare hade visats i London och som nu fanns på

Falkenbergs museum - designmuseet i Halland.

 

Last week I made a trip to the Swedish west coast. I wanted to visit the exhibition Knitwear, that had been shown in London and that now was displayed at Falkenbergs museum. Falkenberg is south of Gothenburg.

 

 

 

Utställningen visade stickade och virkade plagg från 1900-talets mode och stilar. Det fanns både handstickat och maskinstickat och i mycket fint skick.

Den stora fördelen med den här utställningen var att plaggen inte var bakom glas. Naturligtvis fick man inte röra men det gick att granska materialet ganska ingående ändå.

 

The exhibition showed knitted and crocheted garments from the 1900s fashion and styles.

There were both hand knitted and machine knitted garments in very good condition.

The great advantage with this exhibition was that it was not behind glass. Of course you were not allowed to touch anything but still you came very close to the garment and could really take a close look at it.

 

Jag är oerhört nöjd med mitt besök. Det gav mig mer än väntat, både i form av information om material, tekniker och formgivare och naturligtvis inspiration.

 

I'm very pleased with this visit. It gave me more than expected, both in terms of information about materials, techniques and designers and of course inspiration.

 

 

Många av plaggen finns i den här boken.

Jag rekommenderar den varmt.

Jag är mycket förtjust i stilarna från 20- och 30-talet samt 70-talet.

Many of the garments displayed, you find in this book. I really recommend it.

I like the style of the 1920s and 1930s as well as the 1970s.

Det är tydligt hur former och mönster kommer tillbaka i modet med några decenniers mellanrum.

Mer eller mindre utstuderat. Det är fascinerande!
